Sc101t firmware hack

Posted in Teardowns. When the mosfet is not connected the circuit seems that its not shorted but exactly as I reconnect it the power supply signals a short and the mosfet itself start to really heat up.

It looks like that P mosfet is responsible for switching the whole unit on or off, so it could really be anything causing the short. Do you have a IR temp sensor available as it could help find the component that is shorted. Have you checked the different voltage rails to see if any rail is shorted when power is off and also to see what voltage they are at when powered on? The 3x small DC-DC near by should output 1. Was this article helpful? Yes No. What serial number is used to install the backup software?

The picture shows the serial number on the box, on the lower right, under the bars marked "SN". How do I tell which disk is which? If the disks are different sizes, then in the Wizard mode, the physical size of the disk is shown in the disk list, in the Advanced Configuration mode.

On contacting Tierra I was immediately put at ease even though it was "we will try to recover your photos" The service and communication was superb and the result was astounding.

Some relevant device data is shown in the SC data page. I'm an extreme newb at hardare hacking. However I do have a refurbished sc which is basically a brick alongside my Vista machine no drivers. Anyone have any luck with this yet? I have one of these expensive paper weights. Is it the 2MB of flash? I was thinking of replacing the flash chip with a larger one, the largest I can get hold of is 8MB. Would that be enough to get something working on it?

So if I do replace the flash chip would anyone be interested in helping me out after that? This is interesting, altho noone seems to be doing any progress here as of yet.
